The San Francisco Department of Elections has announced an extension for the candidate nomination period for several key positions, including the Board of Education, Community College Board of Trustees, and BART Board of Directors for Districts 7 and 9. This extension follows the decision by incumbents not to file nomination documents for these offices in the upcoming November 5, 2024 election.

Non-incumbent candidates now have until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14, to obtain and file the necessary nomination documents, signatures, and fees with the Department of Elections to secure a place on the ballot.

For further details about candidate filings and information regarding the November 5 election, individuals are encouraged to visit the Department’s website at sfelections.gov.
