AB-2347 introduces a significant change in the response time required for tenants who are served with an unlawful detainer (UD) complaint. Starting January 1, 2025, tenants will have ten days to respond instead of the previous five days. This timeframe excludes weekends and other judicial holidays.
The modification aims to provide tenants with additional time to prepare their responses to UD complaints. This change reflects ongoing efforts to balance tenant rights with landlord interests in legal proceedings.
