The Department of Elections in San Francisco is urging voters to submit their completed ballots by November 5. Director John Arntz emphasized the importance of not delaying ballot returns and reminded voters to sign the envelope. "The Department of Elections has completed mailing vote-by-mail ballot packets for the upcoming November 5 election to all registered voters," said Arntz.
Voters have several options for returning their ballots. By postal mail, no stamp is required as envelopes are postage-paid. The signed envelope must be postmarked by Election Day and received within a week after. Voters can locate USPS boxes at usps.com/locator.
Another option is using one of the 37 official ballot drop boxes in San Francisco, available 24 hours a day until 8 p.m. on Election Day. These boxes are regularly collected by department staff and personnel from the San Francisco Sheriff’s Department. Locations can be found at sfelections.gov/ballotdropoff.
In-person voting is also available at all 501 neighborhood polling places from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., as well as at the City Hall Voting Center with multilingual representatives present daily until Election Day. More information on this option can be accessed at sfelections.gov/inpersonvoting.
Voters can track their vote-by-mail ballot status and resolve any issues via sfelections.gov/voterportal, which provides notifications for problems like unsigned envelopes.
For further inquiries about registration and voting, individuals may contact the Department of Elections through phone, email, or visit their office in City Hall.
