The San Francisco Department of Elections has officially certified the results of the March 5, 2024, Consolidated Presidential Primary Election. According to John Arntz, the Director of the Department, the final turnout was 46.61%, with 233,465 votes cast by San Francisco's 500,856 registered voters.

Arntz also mentioned that the Department's website provides both summary and detailed reports of the election results, which can be accessed at https://sfelections.org/results/. Additionally, all voted ballot cards cast in the election have been made available for public review, organized by Supervisorial Districts.

Looking ahead, the Department will be launching an online Ballot Audit and Review application in April. This tool will allow for the sorting of ballot images based on specific candidates and vote markings, further enhancing the transparency of the election process. Arntz highlighted the Department's efforts to ensure the accuracy of the voting system, including logic and accuracy testing before the election and manual tallying of ballots post-election.

Furthermore, the Department collaborated with the City's Department of Technology to conduct a risk-limiting auditing of certain contests. This unique auditing program aims to verify the accuracy of the voting system, particularly in tabulating and reporting results for ranked-choice voting contests.

The Department of Elections in San Francisco continues to prioritize transparency and accuracy in the electoral process, ensuring that every vote is counted accurately.
