Cost of college went up for all students at the Bay Area Medical Academy

Tuition and fees rose 1.4 percent for 2018-19 at the Bay Area Medical Academy, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

California students paid $14,958 to attend the private for-profit school this year – $200 more than the $14,758 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 86 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 63 students received grants or scholarships totaling $253,503 and 49 students took out student loans totaling more than $252,898.

Including all undergraduates (152), 64 students used grants or scholarships totaling $270,187, and 55 students took out $252,898 in federal student loans.
