The Department of Elections in San Francisco is urging all eligible residents to participate in the upcoming Consolidated General Election on November 5, 2024. Director John Arntz emphasized the importance of voting and encouraged those who have not yet voted to utilize the available options.

“With Election Day a few days away, I encourage every eligible San Franciscan who has not yet voted to take advantage of the many convenient options available,” said Director John Arntz. “If you are registered and have received a ballot by mail, you can return your ballot either by mail or by hand-delivery. If you are not yet registered or need a replacement ballot, you can vote in person at the City Hall Voting Center from now and through Election Day or at your polling place on Election Day. Whatever option you choose, make sure to participate!”

For those opting for mail ballots, they must be postmarked by November 5 and received by November 12 to be counted. Voters can also authorize someone else to pick up or return their ballot using forms available online.

In-person voting remains an option for any eligible voter who needs it. Informational materials and official ballots will be provided in multiple languages including Chinese, English, Spanish, and Filipino at all local voting sites. Additional language support is offered through facsimile ballots in Burmese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, and Vietnamese.

The City Hall Voting Center will be open daily until Election Day with extended hours on weekends and election day itself. All local polling places will operate from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on November 5.

Emergency voting services are available for voters unable to travel due to hospitalization or other reasons by contacting the Department of Elections directly.
