The Department of Elections in San Francisco has released its 15th preliminary results report for the November 5, 2024, Consolidated General Election. The latest update includes the counting of 1,961 vote-by-mail and provisional ballots since the last report on November 16.

The department still needs to process approximately 250 ballots. This number comprises about 200 vote-by-mail ballots and 50 provisional ballots cast at polling places and the City Hall Voting Center. The review of provisional ballots is complete, and any challenged ballots are now included in the outstanding count.

On November 19, a random selection of 1% of the ballots cast will be chosen for a manual tally. This process will occur on November 20 at Pier 31’s warehouse to ensure that machine counts accurately reflect votes cast during the election.

Department personnel will continue canvassing election materials at City Hall from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with public observation available both in-person and via livestream at sfelections.org/observe.

The next set of preliminary results reports will be released on Tuesday, November 19, at 4 p.m., accessible online at www.sfelections.gov/results. Director John Arntz will be present to answer questions from the public and media outside Room 48 in City Hall.
