The Department of Elections in San Francisco has released the 16th preliminary report on the results of the November 5, 2024, Consolidated General Election. This update includes votes from 333 vote-by-mail and provisional ballots counted since the last report on November 18.

According to today’s report, approximately 80 vote-by-mail ballots were processed. These include cured ballots received from other California counties, those from the Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP) for military and overseas voters, and others resolved during the canvass of voting materials.

Remaining ballots yet to be processed include around 700 that require curing due to signature-related issues. Additional ballots may come from FVAP or other county election offices. The Department continues its canvassing efforts and may identify more ballots for processing.

On Wednesday, November 20, preparations will begin for a manual tally of 1% of all ballots cast. This process will take place on November 21 and 22 to verify the accuracy of machine counts against manual tallies.

Public observation is encouraged both in-person at City Hall and online via livestream at sfelections.org/observe. Preliminary results will be updated again on Thursday, November 21 at 4 p.m., available at www.sfelections.gov/results.

Director John Arntz will address public and media inquiries outside Room 48 in City Hall following each release of results reports.
