The Department of Elections in San Francisco will operate 501 polling places on Election Day, November 5. Voting and ballot drop-off services will be available from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Director John Arntz stated, “In every election, we work alongside community partners who step forward to support our city’s elections.” These partners include schools, firehouses, community centers, local businesses, and residents volunteering their spaces as polling sites. This collaboration aims to provide convenient access for voters to return vote-by-mail ballots, cast poll ballots, receive language assistance, or use accessible voting tools.

Each site will offer ballots listing contests specific to that precinct. While any registered voter can cast a provisional ballot at any polling place in the city, only contests relevant to their residential address will be counted. Voters can find their designated polling place by visiting the “Find My Polling Place” tab on the Voter Portal at sfelections.gov/VoterPortal, checking locations and wait times at sfelections.gov/pollingplace, referring to the back cover of their Voter Information Pamphlet, or contacting the Department of Elections.

Earlier this month, multilingual notices were mailed to inform voters of any changes in polling places. On Election Day, signs with addresses of new voting sites will be posted at former locations in multiple languages with QR codes for easy access.

The Department expressed gratitude to all community partners and residents for making each election possible through volunteering space and serving as poll workers.

For more information about registration and voting, contact the Department of Elections or visit their office in City Hall.
