San Francisco elections department releases latest preliminary election results

The Department of Elections in San Francisco has released the 12th preliminary report on the November 5, 2024, Consolidated General Election. The report includes results from 6,106 vote-by-mail and provisional ballots counted since November 13.

Approximately 15,800 ballots remain to be processed. This figure comprises about 1,400 vote-by-mail ballots and around 14,400 provisional ballots cast at polling places and the City Hall Voting Center. Since the last report, nearly 2,000 additional ballots have been reviewed and approved for processing. These include roughly 100 faxed vote-by-mail ballots from overseas voters, 400 vote-by-mail ballots requiring manual review, and 1,300 conditional voter registration ballots cast in City Hall.

Ballot processing will continue until 5 p.m. today and will resume on Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The public can observe this process both in-person and via livestream at sfelections.org/observe.

The next update on preliminary results and remaining ballot estimates is scheduled for release on Friday at 4 p.m., available at www.sfelections.gov/results.

Director John Arntz will be available to answer questions from the public and media outside Room 48 in City Hall when results reports are issued.
