The Department of Elections in San Francisco released its 17th preliminary election results report for the November 5, 2024, Consolidated General Election. The latest update includes the counting of 146 vote-by-mail and provisional ballots since the last report on November 19.

The recent results mainly consist of ballots that voters corrected after November 19. They also include ballots from the Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP), which assists military and overseas voters, as well as those resolved during the canvass of voting materials.

Approximately 550 ballots remain to be processed due to signature-related issues or other reasons. Additional ballots are expected from FVAP for military and overseas voters and from elections offices in other counties. The Department continues its review of election materials, which may reveal more ballots needing processing.

On Friday, November 22, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., a manual tally will be conducted for one percent of the votes cast in this election at Pier 31. This manual count aims to verify the accuracy of machine tallies. The process is open for public observation both in-person and via livestream at sfelections.org/observe.

Further canvassing activities will take place at City Hall within the same hours. The next set of results will be released on Tuesday, December 3, at 4 p.m., available online at www.sfelections.gov/results.

Director John Arntz will address questions from the public and media outside Room 48 in City Hall when new results are announced.
