Salesforce has announced the launch of six new Agentforce Health agents, designed to help healthcare providers, payers, and public health organizations manage and utilize patient data more efficiently. The company aims to address ongoing challenges in the healthcare industry such as rising costs, administrative burdens on staff, and delays in treatment due to inefficient paperwork processes.
The Agentforce Health platform integrates with systems from partners including HealthEx, Verily, and Viz.ai. These integrations are intended to streamline access to medical records, improve care coordination, and enhance disease detection. According to Salesforce, organizations like MIMIT Health have already seen benefits from adopting these solutions.
“We’ve seen dramatic operational improvement — including a 459% ROI and $1.5 million in savings, alongside increased patient satisfaction and reduced administrative burden,” said Dr. Paramjit “Romi” Chopra, CEO & Founder of MIMIT Health.
HealthEx provides a secure digital health wallet that gives consumers control over their medical records and facilitates data sharing using standards such as TEFCA and FHIR endpoints. This integration is designed to enable more personalized care by allowing comprehensive access to patients’ medical histories.
Verily’s technology brings together data from wearables, nutrition trackers, and lab tests for use within Agentforce Health. This approach aims to support predictive and preventive care while enabling more tailored patient experiences.
Viz.ai detects diseases from medical imaging and electronic health records (EHRs) and can trigger workflows within Salesforce’s platform. By alerting specialists quickly and coordinating care teams automatically, the system seeks to reduce delays in treatment for critical conditions.
Agentforce Health offers several specific tools:
– The Referrals & Assessments Agent triages referrals to appropriate specialists and suggests relevant assessments.
– The EHR Read-Write Agent enables bidirectional data exchange with EHRs like athenahealth through MuleSoft connectors.
– The Claims & Coverage Agent uses Informatica-powered APIs for self-service support regarding deductibles, billing status, provider networks, copays, benefits questions via HIPAA-ready voice assistance.
– Rural Health Agents support video visits for remote populations even without internet connectivity.
– Epidemiology Analysis Agents help automate infection tracking for public health agencies.
– Hospital Operations Agents act as command centers managing resources such as beds and staff in real time.
Amit Khanna, SVP & GM of Health at Salesforce stated: “We cannot ask our healthcare heroes to operate in a system that is constantly failing them with fragmented data and soul-crushing administrative work. Salesforce is the only platform that makes every touchpoint in the patient journey feel like one continuous conversation—so clinicians can think less about systems and more about people. Our trusted AI agents, grounded in a purpose-built platform, are sharing the 24/7 administrative load, giving our customers their cognitive bandwidth back to accelerate approvals, improve outcomes, and connect with patients at a speed that was impossible even a year ago.”
Several features—including Home & Rural Health agent templates—are available now on the Agentforce Health Cloud platform. Additional capabilities such as referral triage automation will be released later this year or by June 2026.
The announcement comes amid broader industry efforts toward interoperability using standards like FHIR APIs that facilitate easier exchange of health information between systems—a trend supported by both private sector initiatives and government regulations.
