The Department of Building Inspection (DBI) is reaching out to its customers, encouraging them to participate in an anonymous customer satisfaction survey. The survey aims to gather feedback on the department’s services and identify areas for improvement. It is designed to take less than ten minutes and will remain open until Friday, December 27 at 5 PM.

In addition to the survey, DBI has introduced new online options for scheduling inspections and making payments. As of today, permit holders can schedule plumbing and mechanical inspections and pay for additional plumbing, mechanical, and electrical inspections through the DBI website. This development is intended to streamline the inspection process by removing potential delays that could affect project timelines.

DBI plans to extend online scheduling capabilities to include building and electrical inspections in the future. For those who prefer traditional methods, phone scheduling remains available for all types of inspections by calling (628) 652-3401 with the necessary permit information.

For any questions or issues related to online inspection scheduling, customers are encouraged to contact DBI via email at dbi.onlineservices@sfgov.org or by phone at (628) 652-3320.
