Department of Elections Releases Preliminary Results Report #9 and Updates on Ballot Count

San Francisco, March 12, 2024 - The Department of Elections in the City and County of San Francisco has released the ninth preliminary election results report for the March 5, 2024, Consolidated Presidential Primary Election.

According to the Department of Elections, "Today’s preliminary results report includes 2,488 vote-by-mail ballots and 306 provisional ballots counted since the previous results report issued yesterday." The report also indicates that "The Department must still process and count approximately 6,700 ballots."

The Department of Elections further stated that Director John Arntz will be available to respond to questions from the public and the media regarding the preliminary results reports outside of Room 48 in City Hall.

The remaining ballots to be processed include 600 vote-by-mail ballots and 6,100 provisional ballots. Additionally, the Department received nearly 500 vote-by-mail ballots from voters who delivered them to other California counties.

Ballot processing will continue until 5 p.m. today and will be open to public observation in-person and via livestream at sfelections.org/observe. The Department will process ballots from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays.
