The Department of Elections in the City and County of San Francisco has released the 12th preliminary election results report for the votes cast in the March 5, 2024, Consolidated Presidential Primary Election.

According to the Department of Elections, "Today’s preliminary results report includes most ballots requiring processing for this election." The report also includes ballots that previously needed manual review or voters' actions to cure.

The Department anticipates certifying the election on Friday, March 22, allowing voters to cure their ballots until two days before certification. As a result, the Department will process more ballots and issue another preliminary results report on Wednesday, March 20.

In preparation for the certification process, on Monday, March 18, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Department will conduct a manual tally of 1% of the ballots cast in the election. This tally aims to ensure the accuracy of the voting system in recording and reporting the votes cast.

During the announcement of the preliminary results reports, Director John Arntz will be available to address questions from the public and the media outside Room 48 in City Hall. The Department has provided a contact number and website for further information.

The tally process will be open for public observation in person at the Department's warehouse on Pier 31 and via livestream on sfelections.org/observe. The Department will be closed on March 16 and 17, with no issuance of preliminary results reports or unprocessed ballot reports on those days.
