The Department of Elections Provides Update on Presidential Primary Election Ballot Count

The Department of Elections in the City and County of San Francisco has released the eighth preliminary election results report for the March 5, 2024, Consolidated Presidential Primary Election. According to Director John Arntz, the report includes 6,332 vote-by-mail ballots counted since the previous results report.

In the update, it was mentioned that there are approximately 9,100 remaining ballots to be processed and counted. This includes 2,600 vote-by-mail ballots and 6,500 provisional ballots. The Department's personnel will be working diligently until 5 p.m. today to process these remaining ballots.

Director John Arntz also shared that ballot processing will continue from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and is open for public observation both in-person and via livestream on sfelections.org/observe.

As the process unfolds, Director John Arntz will be available to address any questions from the public and the media outside of Room 48 in City Hall when preliminary results reports are issued.
